MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Officials from Niece Motorsports and AM Racing jointly announced today that Austin, Texas native Austin Wayne Self will drive the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado in next Friday night’s Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway.
Self, 21, is set to make his second start of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season after earning a career-best second place finish in the season-opening event at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in February driving for AM Racing.
“Niece Motorsports is very excited to have Austin drive for us at Kansas Speedway,” said team Principal Al Niece. “We’ve seen him drive at other tracks last year and we were very impressed. We are looking forward to having him in the truck at Kansas Speedway and maybe some more races down the road.”

“I’m very appreciative for this opportunity to drive for Niece Motorsports,” said Self, a 23-time NCWTS competitor. “Thanks to Niece Equipment and Precision Air Technology, I’ve been given an opportunity to get in a truck and go out and earn a strong finish. I enjoy racing at Kansas Speedway and look forward to a flashy finish under the lights.”
