Austin Wayne Self Pre-Race Quotes:

On Bristol Motor Speedway: “I love Bristol. We don’t have the results to show that I love Bristol, but hopefully we can change that on Thursday night. It will be an aggressive race – especially being a cutoff event for the Playoffs.

“I don’t plan to put myself in a position that may jeopardize a Playoff driver, but Bristol is a tight, fast short track. Things happen in a hurry, and we are hunting goals of our own at AM Racing.

“We had a top-10 finish on the dirt in March and I’d love to bring home a top-10 finish on the concrete with our No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet Silverado.”

On 2021 Season: “It’s hard to believe that the year is starting to wrap up. We only have five races left on the schedule and I definitely want to make the best of all of them.

“There are some good tracks left for our AM Racing over the next two months or so and I think there is definitely an opportunity to score more top-10s and hopefully even a top-five before we close the books on the 2021 season at Phoenix in November.”

Austin Wayne Self Pre-Race Quotes:

On Watkins Glen International: “It’s nice to get back in a truck after several weeks off. I’m pumped about getting back on a road course. I really enjoy road course racing and feel like I continue to improve as a road course driver with every race.

“Running the ARCA race on Friday evening will be a big help in getting familiar with the layout of Watkins Glen and hopefully we can carry the momentum of the ARCA race to the Truck race on Saturday afternoon.

“I also want to thank The Safe Air Zone and Janitronics for jumping on board this weekend at Watkins Glen. Hopefully, it’s a strong weekend start to finish.”

On Knoxville Raceway: “That was unfortunate. We had such a fast No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet Silverado, but the bottom lane really became king there in Stage 3 and it became just a matter of bumper trucks on the restarts and we found ourselves on the wrong end very late in the race.

“it’s a shame. Ryan (Salomon, crew chief) and everyone brought me a great truck and Brett (Moffitt) was doing great too before he had his issues. I’m proud of the effort by this AM Racing team even if we don’t have the results to show for it.

“On to Watkins Glen and our last shot at a Hail Mary to make the Playoffs.”

On 2021 Season: “This is it as far as the Playoffs are concerned. We will do what we can to put ourselves in a position to either contend for the win or even throw a Hail Mary to pull an upset.

“It is not going to be easy, but we won’t be going down without a fight.

“Even if we don’t make the Playoffs though, it’s been a strong season for the AM Racing team and we have a lot more to accomplish and prove before Phoenix in November.”

Austin Wayne Self Pre-Race Quotes:

On Knoxville Raceway: “Very excited to get to Knoxville Raceway. I love racing on the dirt. It’s a blast, especially with a truck. We are bringing back the same No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet Silverado we earned a top-10 finish on the dirt earlier this year at Bristol and that has my confidence peaking.

“Just hope we can have a good night on Friday night and continue to turn heads in the garage.”

“We will continue to work hard and fight, but do not be surprised if we attempt to throw a Hail Mary at Knoxville and | or Watkins Glen, it may be our only chance.”

On Teammate Brett Moffitt: “Thrilled to have Brett Moffitt as a teammate this weekend at Knoxville. He is a competitive race car driver and I know he brings a great wealth of knowledge, experience and drive to the AM Racing organization.

“Hopefully, we can rekindle what AM Racing did in 2017 at Daytona – when both AM Racing trucks finished inside the top-10 in the same race.”

On 2021 Season: “We have two races left to throw our team into the Playoff mix. It is not going to be easy, but we won’t be going down without a fight.

“We’ve been very solid to the start of 2021. We were able to rebound in our most recent race at Pocono, but we can’t stop there. We must push hard and stay humble and keep doing what we’ve been doing all year long.

Austin Wayne Self Pre-Race Quotes:

On Pocono Raceway: “I am eager for a little redemption this weekend at Pocono Raceway. We didn’t have a good race at Nashville, and I only ran five laps here in a truck last year because of a crash.

“I’ve always enjoyed racing at Pocono because it’s such a unique race track which provides the opportunity for strategies and some good racing. We need to get ourselves back on track with a top-10 finish on Saturday afternoon and I think with a little luck we can do that with our No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet Silverado.”

On Nashville Superspeedway: “It was not the night we were looking for. We struggled with the handling of our No. 22 GO TEXAN | At Home Concert Experience Chevrolet Silverado throughout the day and night and never could get a comfortable balance.

“We’ll learn from this and be better. Hopefully, we have a major rebound at Pocono.”

On 2021 Season: “We are right there on the cusp of making the Truck Series Playoffs. It’s going to take a lot of work, but we still have a shot.

“We’ve been very solid to the start of 2021. We were a little off last weekend at Nashville, but we are determined to bounce back and produce some strong results in this crucial summer stretch.”
