Race On Texas Joins In Supporting Texas Native Race Car Driver, Austin Wayne Self Following His Victory at Winchester Speedway

xlarge-660x400RaceOnTexas.com has joined in supporting Austinite/race car driver, Austin Wayne Self, for the remainder of the 2015 ARCA Racing Series race season and they couldn’t have picked a better time to do it. Self is coming off of his first ARCA career Win where he took all of his Texas-based sponsors and partners into the Victory Lane spotlight. The young driver has made a point of promoting Texas-based companies this year and is proud to add RaceOnTexas.com, a full service media organization dedicated to covering Texas short track racing, to his group of home state partners.

Self started his racing career competing at local tracks in Austin and surrounding cities. He began racing Karts at the age of five years old. After a successful Karting career winning several WKA National, WKA Grand National, TAG World and Iron Rock Grand Prix Championships around the U.S., Self graduated to Stock Car racing and returned home to Austin to ready himself for the next level of racing. At the age of 14 Self competed in his first stock car series in a Pro Late Model. blue-kart-WEBHe competed in two full seasons at Central Texas Speedway before signing with a nationally recognized team and moving up into national races. Now Self is competing in his first full ARCA Racing Series season. In 2014 Self was crowned ARCA SCOTT Rookie of the Year and is currently in the running for the 2015 ARCA Championship. When asked about the importance of teaming up with RaceOnTexas.com Self said,

“I get a lot of questions from fans about ways that they can get involved in racing. They love watching races, love cars and love to go fast so getting themselves into the seat and getting track time is a real goal for them. When you look back at my racing career history you’ll see that both my karting and stock car careers began at local racetracks. Instead of jumping in the truck or mini van to go to soccer games, we were driving to Central Texas Speedway, Iron Rock Raceway and other tracks nearby. Keeping these local tracks in the interest of fans is so important to the sport. I truly believe that without them (local tracks), I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am now. Sites like RaceOnTexas.com are so important because they keep local tracks and drivers in the spotlight. They keep the sport alive, giving other young drivers like me a chance to compete and hone their skills. Everyone has to start somewhere. That’s why I’m so excited about partnering with these guys. They’re passionate and they’re making a difference in the Auto Racing world!”
