Bristol Motor Speedway Race Notes:

Austin Wayne Self, driver of the No.22 AM Technical Solutions Toyota, made his first career Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start at Bristol Motor Speedway in Wednesday’s UNOH 200 – finishing 21st.

After starting 26th in his debut Bristol race the 20-year old Texan struggled to find balance during the weather delayed 200-lap event.  Working the preferred bottom grove of the race track, Self was unable to find the speed needed to pressure the front running trucks. Riding in the mid-pack the team pitted twice for fuel and air pressure adjustments hoping to give Self the advantage needed.  Settling for 21st, Self and his team prepare next for Michigan.

Bristol Motor Speedway Post Race Quote:

“Man we struggled here this week.  I just couldn’t get my AM Technical Solutions Toyota Tundra handling the way I needed it to.  I really liked the bottom groove, especially with the new surface and grip.  Unfortunately we just couldn’t get the speed we needed to move up.  I want to thank my guys for continuing to work hard.  We’ll go back to the shop this week and get ready for Michigan.
