From Indiana to Alabama! It’s Dega Baby!

On April 27th Austin Wayne Self left Salem Indiana with a P4 finish as well as the Scott Rookie of the Race Award. AWS battled fiercely in front of nearly 50 family members in his Hoosier Scale Dodge. “It felt good to have such a solid race especially in front of family and friends.”

At 30 laps in AWS suffered damage to the fender and fought to maintain track position. At 3 laps to go the team made a risky decision to bring the 22 Hoosier Scale Dodge down pit road. The gamble paid off and in the final laps Austin passed 4 cars on the green-white checker run securing a P4 finish for the day. The team was ecstatic with Austin’s performance and perseverance throughout the day.

Looking forward Austin is now ready to conquer Talladega! “After such a good run at Salem, I know it can only get better at Talladega!” The 22 AM Technical Solutions Dodge backed by Cunningham Racing will begin the journey to Talladega on Thursday where Austin will tour AIDB and Friday be apart of the Race Fever event at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
